His scar shows. It isn’t as bad as he says it is — at this point, small and nearly insignificant. But because he’d rather not pay attention to it, I ignore it. But he isn’t looking at me.
I fold one of my arms and rest my head on it. After a moment I look back at Selina because I get over it eventually. The Asian lady is already starting on my back and I can tell I’m going to enjoy it.
My back has already been started on and it’s possibly the best thing I’ve had in a while. Then again, massages aren’t something I’m accustomed to. He looks back at me again, the scar forgotten. Good. Rather he was in good spirits, too.
She gets higher on my back and I start feeling her fingers working away at the knots. “You can.. go harder.”
